Basically, Trevor sent me away off the boat while he and the mechanic installed the new generator in San Diego….I did not protest! So I headed off to North Carolina to visit my dad. It just so happened that I arrived on Father’s Day. My trip was not planned in advance and with only 2 days of notice, my sister also booked a flight from Colorado so we both could be in NC for Father’s Day as a surprise to our dad…and surprised he was!
My step mom, Barbara, and her family owns a beautiful and large cabin in the little city of Montreat where the family comes together once a year in June. We sat on the porch and chatted while keeping an eye on the little ones, it was truly a Southern dream gone reality! I was lucky to be visiting during this time so that I could connect with all of them.
Dad and I hung out and took care of doctors appointments, little chores, and even some time to watch a movie (Alice in Wonderland, the new one). Elissa (step sister) and her dog Newman accompanied us many evenings and I enjoyed having the 4-footed friend at my side most of the day.
This trip was truly a treat and I only wished we could of had more time. It is hard to leave especially when I don’t know when the next time I will see them again. I Love you dad!
Yay! You have gained many wonderful NC memories to save! And who knows, you may have also saved a marriage!=)
Sounds like a great trip! Glad you made it.
