And so it was….being sick sucks….we thought best to head out and quarantine ourselves so we don’t infect anyone else and we choose Russian Bay to do it at…
Russian Bay Anchorage: 13 32.2216 S, 047 59.9042 E
It took 48 hours for me to break the fever and another few days for the cold like symptoms to run it’s course….but being such a small space…Trevor caught it…then there were 2 down!
In a nut shell, we watched lots of movies and TV series….wish we had GoT season 8…but that will have to wait (SV Starry Horizons…we are still waiting hahaha)!
The only real excitement we had was being boarded by the patrol boat. They asked us if they could board us…they don’t have lines or fenders so we scrambled around to get them tied up along side of us. They asked us if we had cleared in and to see our passports. They didn’t seemed satisfied when we showed them the one piece of clearance paperwork we received. However, I remembered i had taken photos of Trevor at each office we went to when we cleared in and showed one guy my phone with a photo of Trevor at the Customs office…immediately they backed off….funny right?! Then they were off and headed to the next boat in the anchorage. No idea what exactly they were looking for: another piece of paper or possibly a small “gift”? No idea…but they were all very kind and considerate..it’s just nerve racking to have officials board your boat and not have EXACTLY what they want.
But we had other, less demanding, company too…these guys were swimming around our boat EVERY day!!!
Any guess as to what type of fish this is?
After about 6 days and feeling better, Trevor was getting ants in his pants. We felt like we just wasted a week…but what else are you going to do?! We have yet to meet other cruisers here so we headed back to Crater Bay to see what was what : )
UP next: Back to Crater Bay…water maker broken, microwave down, engine won’t start….just another day : )
What a bummer to be sick anytime, but especially when confined to a boat. Glad you’re doing better now
